Pelvic Floor Retraining & Incontinence Prevention

At The Fix Program, we have physiotherapists who are expert clinicians in the management of conditions unique to women. They have clinical expertise and excellent diagnostic and therapeutic skills. We specialise in the management of pelvic floor problems. We can help you if you have:

  • Urinary incontinence or poor bladder control
  • Bowel incontinence and constipation
  • Over active bladder and urge incontinence
  • Pregnancy and post-natal care
  • Vaginal prolapse (also known as pelvic organ prolapse)
  • Painful sex
  • Pelvic pain

How is The Fix Program's Women's Health Physiotherapy different?

Our women's health physiotherapists are passionate about providing the best possible care for our women. Caring, sensitive and thorough assessment and management for each woman is our focus.

We understand every woman's physiotherapy needs are different.

Our women's health assessments always involve an internal vaginal examination. This, along with extensive questioning about your pelvic floor function and habits allow for the best diagnosis and then treatment. The internal examination will also allow for the physiotherapist to properly assess any weakness, spasm or change to your pelvic floor muscles and to assess for any degree of vaginal prolapse of your pelvic organs. All of this cannot be achieved externally.

We work closely with your current physiotherapist, referring doctor or gynaecologist to achieve the best outcome for you.

What should I expect?

You do not need a referral to see our women's health physiotherapists, but you may be referred by your GP or gynaecologist. After speaking with you over the phone about your pelvic floor problem, we will book you an hour long assessment. This will involve taking a very detailed history about your pelvic floor habits, from bladder and bowel control, to sex, to lower back and pelvic pain. The internal vaginal examination will follow and a management plan decided together with you.

How much will I pay for women's health pelvic floor physiotherapy services at The Fix Program?

All of our physiotherapy sessions attract a rebate with most private health fund providers nationally. We claim on the spot for you with the HICAPS system, meaning no further chasing up rebates by you with your fund providers. All you need to do is pay the gap.

Our physiotherapy charges are

Initial physiotherapy assessment (60 minutes) $169
Follow up 60 minute extended appointment $160
Follow up 45 minute extended appointment $140
Follow up 30 minute standard appointment $105

Please note that our Pilates classes and musculoskeletal physiotherapy services have a slightly different fee structure and can be viewed on our website.

If you are calling to arrange for a Pilates assessment or session , or have been referred to us for our musculoskeletal physiotherapy services, please let our admin staff know when you call.
