Postnatal Check Up

You're in safe hands at The Fix Program®

Postnatal Check Up by a Physiotherapist

Now that you have your baby, your body may still not feel quite right.

Ongoing back and pelvic pain, upper back pain and pelvic floor issues such as incontinence and sensitivity are very common. Your body needs to time to recover not only from your labour but from being pregnant also.

At this time, you may have a few questions or concerns, such as:

  • Have there been any changes to my pelvic floor or tummy muscles from pregnancy and labour?
  • Why do I still have ongoing pain in the back, buttocks or pubic bone?
  • Can physio treatment speed up my recovery?
  • How soon can I return to exercise?
  • Can I still exercise the way I did before pregnancy?
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • What kinds of exercises are safe for my body as a new mum?

Before starting back to your exercise routine, contact us and have all your questions answered.

The Fix Program offers a comprehensive 1 hour postnatal physiotherapy assessment with a women's health physiotherapist which involves:

  • Pelvic floor muscle assessment
  • Prolapse and incontinence assessment
  • Musculoskeletal assessment of the pelvis including sacroiliac and pubic bone alignment, support and strength
  • Tummy muscle separation assessment
  • Fitting abdominal binder or SRC Recovery Shorts, as needed
  • Breastfeeding/bottle feeding posture check
  • Individualised exercises and advice
  • Advice on whether our mums & bubs postnatal class is right for you

How much does this assessment cost?

Your assessment will cost $185 for the hour.

All of our physiotherapy sessions attract a rebate with most private health fund providers nationally. We claim on the spot for you with the HICAPS system, meaning no further chasing up rebates by you with your fund providers. All you need to do is pay the gap.
