With the running and fun run season in full swing, I have noticed an increasing trend for both girls and guys to wear compression gear under their running shorts. I have often wondered what the evidence suggests in the benefits of doing so. I came across this article reviewing recent studies from highly reputable Medical and Sports Journals. It is always helpful and safer reviewing all of the literature currently available in an unbiased look and I feel that this author has done quite a good job. All in all, it looks like the jury is still out on the compression gear's manufacturer's claims of "less injury risk and better performance", but then again, there are no detrimental effects in wearing the gear and many anecdotal reports from athletes on experiencing less muscle soreness after exercise. Happy reading. http://www.amateurendurance.com/injury-topics/compression-gear-fact-vs-fiction/ Tweet
